Samson Reilly is a skilled 6-foot-2 guard known for his elite three-point shooting, feel for the game, and ability to impact winning. A confident scorer with a high basketball IQ, Reilly brings efficiency, toughness, and a strong work ethic as he continues his collegiate career.

2025–26

Reilly spent the 2025–26 season at Quinnipiac, where he emerged as an efficient scoring threat and one of the team’s top perimeter shooters. He averaged 4.4 points in 8.9 minutes per game while shooting an impressive 48.1% from three-point range and 43.6% from the field.

He delivered several standout performances throughout the season, including a career-high 29 points and nine three-pointers against CCNY (Nov. 19, 2025). He also showcased his ability to score in bursts, recording 11 points on a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc in just six minutes against St. John’s, and 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from three in 16 minutes against UCF.

Reilly’s shooting efficiency, confidence, and ability to produce in limited minutes highlighted his value as a floor-spacing guard and a dangerous offensive weapon.

2024–25

As a first-year player, Reilly took a redshirt season, using the year to adjust to the college game and further develop his strength, skill set, and understanding of the system.

High School

Prior to Quinnipiac, Reilly starred at East Catholic High School in Connecticut, playing for his father, head coach Luke Reilly Sr. He enjoyed a highly successful career, surpassing 1,000 career points while helping lead the program to an outstanding 83–12 record. Reilly played a key role in back-to-back Connecticut Division I State Championships (2022 & 2023) and earned All-State honors in both 2023 and 2024.

As a senior in 2023–24, Reilly averaged 28 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block per game while shooting 54% from the field and 44% from three-point range. He was a consistent perimeter threat throughout his career, shooting 40% from beyond the arc in all four high school seasons. As a junior in 2022–23, he averaged 15 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game.

Reilly also excelled academically, maintaining a 4.0+ GPA as a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal

Born on September 28, 2005, Reilly is from Glastonbury, Connecticut. He is the son of Luke and Natalie Reilly and has two brothers: Luke (22) and Rocco (18). Basketball runs deep in his family, with his father coaching him in high school and serving as a major influence on his development. The Reilly name is well-known in Connecticut basketball circles, with multiple family members involved in coaching and playing at high levels.

Outside of basketball, Reilly enjoys lifting weights, spending time with family, going to the beach, listening to music, and learning guitar. His favorite song is “Black” by Pearl Jam, and his favorite movie and TV show are The Prestige and Eastbound & Down. He is a fan of the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, and New England Patriots. Reilly looks up to his father as his biggest influence and admired players like Larry Bird growing up, along with players his father coached who went on to compete at the collegiate level.

He keeps his pregame routine simple, typically listening to the same playlist in the same order and taking a pregame nap, focusing on consistency and preparation.
